I recently spotted this palette whilst browsing in Sportsgirl and it instantly reminded me of the Kylie Jenner eyeshadow palettes - except way, way cheaper if you're in Australia. I debated whether to get it, did I need it - but of course like all beauty enthusiasts the answer is always Yes. I'm was always a bit wary of cosmetic lines from clothing retailers, but H&M and Topshop changed my opinion on this and I now think they offer some great, affordable products for all budgets, you just need to do some research and swatching to find what's a hit and a miss!

This palette contains a lovely mixture of matte and shimmers, all of the shades are complimentary for green eyes and have warm and cool shades, the eyeshadows are highly pigmented, easy to blend and last really well although I always used an eyeshadow primer as I have oily lids. I've been so impressed with this palette, the colours are so wearable and have a nice shade range to create day or night looks. For $19.95 this was a total STEAL. None of the shimmery shades have chunky glitter or fall out, they're all buttery and smooth and can be intensified by spraying your brush with Fix+ or a water before applying.

First Aid Beauty // Mattifying Oil-Free Gel Review

FIRST AID BEAUTY oil-free mattifying gel - $29.80

This oil free mattifying gel claims to hydrate the skin, regulate oil production and tone the skin. Since purchasing this product, I use it as my day and night moisturiser. In the morning, I'll wake up, wash my face and apply this, followed by the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, for some soft focus blur and SPF. These two make your skin look beautiful and it makes for an equally lovely base before make up. First Aid Beauty claim this moisturiser also visably reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores. Do I agree with this? Yes. When you first apply this it feels luxurious and moisturising but not heavy, then when it dries down, it leaves you with a satin/matte skin and my skin looks plumped and tightened. It's a really beautiful moisturiser, which is why I've been using it for everything and have since run out and ordered my second tube. The packaging makes it travel friendly and really easy to dispense the amount you need.
In terms of oil control, I definitely see a reduced amount of shine on my skin when I use this and when I use it prior to make up, it helps prolong the wear. It doesn't keep me matte from 8am - 10pm, especially in such a hot, humid country, but I don't think anything would! For such an affordable price, I highly rate this product if you have oily/combination skin. You can find First Aid Beauty products in Selfridges, or on Beauty Bay which offer free shipping on most orders.

Have you ever used any products from First Aid Beauty before? If so, what was your favourite product?

I definitely don't go make up shopping as often in Australia as I did in the UK. Prices out here are pretty steep when it comes to cosmetics and where me and my boyfriend live doesn't have any department stores - so no Mac, no Estee Lauder, no Dior.. So for a birthday treat my mum sent me over some money to buy some new make up and I got Adam to drive me all the way to Sephora and Mecca Maxima. Here's a little look at what ended up in my shopping bag and if you want any of the products reviewed, let me know in the comment section below.
