Pay Day Haul.

If you're a regular reader of my blog you'll of noticed I've had a few splurges recently. I just can't seem to control myself when it comes to beauty products, especially when there's so many new, amazing products being released. I'm contemplating a spending ban, emphasis on the contemplating, we'll see. I treated myself to quite a few beauty bits that I'd noted down during the previous month, some Zoeva goodies which I've already told you about, some clothes which I wont bore you with and two gorgeous bags I'm smitten with. I hope you're not bored of me sharing my recent purchases, please do let me know if you want any of these products reviewed or swatched! Lush Melting Marshmallow Moment, Creamy Candy Bar, Fluffy Egg and Rose Bubbleroon and Popcorn lip scrub - all insanely sweet. Fiorelli Mia Grab Bag in Pale Sky.

Although it may seem I got a little carried away I really did get some great deals. Both Superdrug and Boots were offering 3 for 2 on cosmetics, The Body Shop had a 30% off code, Illamasqua had a huge sale, I had Debenhams Beauty Card points, Boots beauty points and some products were included in a deal, or had free delivery - this is how I'm justifying it all anyway.

What've you purchased this pay day?!

Topshop Make Up Haul.

Topshop Cream Blush in 'Afternoon Tea' - £6 , Eye Gleam in 'Bronze' - £6, Eyeshadow Duo in 'Woodland Walk' -£6 and Lipstick in 'Petal' -£8.

I really enjoy Topshop make up. Their cream blushers, highlighters, lip products and bronzing powder are firm favourites of mine. I decided to have a little browse the other day with my friend Lucy and I discovered a few new products I couldn't resist. At least they're new to me anyway.
I already own the shades 'Flush' and 'Head over Heels' which are both gorgeous and I love the cream to powder formula. These are easy to blend, pigmented and creamy. I grabbed the shade 'Afternoon Tea' as soon as I spotted it on the shelves. It's a vivid pink in the pan which translates to a doll, feminine flush on the cheeks. I'm absolutely in love.
To add to my Topshop nudes I picked up 'Petal' a dreamy pale pink. This is so incredibly pretty on and completes my nude lip trio. 'Nevada' is a beige nude, 'Saint' is a pink toned nude and 'Petal' is a pale pink. One swipe and they leave an opaque colour, they apply smoothly and leave a semi matte finish.
The remaining two products I brought to use together. The Eye Gleam in 'Bronze' is a golden bronze, as the name would suggest. It's packed full of fine shimmer and used as a base will hopefully intensify the eyeshadow duo I picked up. The duo in question is 'Woodland Walk' which contains a really lovely golden shade and a chocolate bronze. These paired with the eye gleam will hopefully give me a seamless smokey eye on nights out.

The only downside of the Topshop range is the white matte packaging. It starts off cute and girly but after a few weeks in your make up bag ends up discoloured. If you can overlook this, then the range is affordable, great quality and offers a range of shades to suit minimalists to those more daring.

ELF 50% off Haul.

Elf recently hit a Twitter target and offered up a 50% off code so everyone could share in their success. I've tried a few bits and pieces from Elf but they've expanded their range since I last placed an order so I decided to buy a few bits and pieces - I clearly don't need any more make up, but who can resist a half price sale?!
The only item I specifically wanted was the yellow HD powder which ironically, I forgot to even add to my basket. All of the products I did pick up where chosen on a whim so here's a quick run through of the products I ordered.

Lip Stain in 'Heartbreaker' - £3.75
I have a lip stain from Elf in the shade 'Red Carpet' and love it, these are quite pigmented and long lasting and offer up the option of a gloss to wear over the top. I found this shade to be a little watery compared to the other one I own but it still applies nicely. The colour is a dreamy Barbie/pale pink and all of the lip stains dry down to a matte finish.

Blush in 'Pink Passion' - £3.75
I picked this blush purely because I'd seen Tanya Burr use it in a budget beauty video. It's a gorgeous pink that's quite vivid and a little daring in the pan but translates as a girly pink flush on the cheeks. It reminds me of Nars Gaiety, without the shimmer at a bargain price.

HD Blush in 'Headliner' - £3.75
This stuff is pigmented. The packaging is quite sweet and it comes with a pump which is always a bonus, just be careful how much you dispense as you need the TINIEST amount. It comes out as a thick cream but blends easily in to the skin. Headliner is a rosy, pretty pink that adds a flirty flush to the cheeks.

Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream in 'St. Lucia' - £3.75
This is, as the name suggests, a cream contour and blush duo. Packaged in a sleek Nars style compact, it also offers a large mirror (as do most of the Elf powder products!). Both shades are incredibly pigmented. Also too pigmented, if I dare say so. You literally need to touch your brush to the product and you've set.

Cream Eyeshadow in 'Candlelight' - £3.75
This is a very pale champagne shade that when swatched looks almost white and quite frosty. It applies a little unevenly and I'm not overly keen on it so far but I'll give it a try underneath eyeshadows and see if its any use to me!

Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in 'Antigua' - £3.75
An apparent dupe for Nars Orgasm/Laguna duo, but I think not. As it seems to be a common trend with Elf product, these are very pigmented and a light hand is needed. The bronzer is very dark, not for pale skinned girls and the blush is a similar to Pink Passion but LOADED with glitter. This is the main drawback for me, the glitter. I don't mind a little shimmer but glitter is a no go so I think I'll be passing this along.

All Over Color Stick in 'Toasted' - £1.50
I got this shade purely for the purpose of trying to create a golden goddess look on nights out. It's a gorgeous golden bronze shade that when sheered out adds a really beautiful shimmer to the skin. I'm also tempted to try this out as a cream eyeshadow, we'll see. Oh and did I mention this smells of oranges?! Yum!

Eyebrow Treat & Tame in 'Ash' - £3.75
This is a dual ended brow tamer with one clear side and the other tinted with the shade of your choice. I've not tried this yet but heard reviews of it leaving brows slightly crispy, eek, so lets hope it performs well when I trial it!

Maxiumum Coverage Concealer in 'Nude' - £3.75
This sounded promising and having tried it a few times, it's not a bad product. I wouldn't say it's full coverage, definitely more a medium coverage with quite a dewy/satin finish that needs to be set with powder. It's very creamy and thick, plus the shade range is quite limited but for the price - it does the job! If I was on a budget I'd definitely repurchase.

I also brought two brushes, the powder brush and the studio small stipple brush, the powder brush (£3.75) - get it, the stipple brush (£3.75), pass. All of these goods only ended up costing me £20, not bad at all.

SWATCHES:
TOP ROW; LIP STAIN 'HEARTBREAKER' - BLUSH 'PINK PASSION' - HD CREAM BLUSH 'HEADLINE'
MIDDLE ROW; CREAM BRONZER & BLUSH 'ST LUCIA'
BOTTOM ROW; CREAM EYESHADOW 'CANDLELIGHT' - POWDER BRONZE & BLUSH 'ANTIGUA' - ALL OVER COLOR STICK 'TOASTED'

Who can resist a beauty 3 for 2?!

RECEIPT
L'oreal Nude Magique BB Powder, Medium - £6.99
Barry M Matte Nail Paint, Vanilla - £3.99
Barry M Matte Nail Paint, Crush - £3.99
Loreal Super Liner Perfect Slim, Intense Black -  £6.99
Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream, Petal - 4.99
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick, Glam Plum Fulham - £6.49
Rimmel Colour Rush, Give Me A Cuddle - £5.99
John Frieda Blow Dry Lotion - £2.89

**Multibuy** = £10.48

Whenever Superdrug has a 3 for 2 offer on I just can't resist popping in there for a browse and to pick up a few items. I'd wanted to try the Barry M matte polishes, as I mentioned in my previous Wishlist post but then got sidetracked by a few other bits and pieces along the way. I decided to put together a brief 'first impressions' of each product, just in case you were tempted by the multibuy offer too.

John Freda Blow Dry Lotion has been a repeat purchase for me for a while now. It's recently been repackaged but it's still the same product, a liquid spray you spritz on to your roots to give you voluminous, yet non-sticky hair. This is currently half price too, bargain alert!
Barry M Matte Nail Paints are the hot new products to hit the Barry M shelves. The colour selection is limited but the formula is spot on. They're opaque in one coat and dry to a very smooth, satin/matte finish. I love that they don't look dry or chalky like others I've tried. 'Vanilla' is a pale lilac/grey shade and 'Crush' is a deep wine red.
L'oreal Nude Magique BB Powder, I know, I know. BB powder?! I think 'BB' is becoming a term stuck to any product that companies can think up multi uses for. It offers a 'shine free finish, smooth resurfaced skin, undetectable coverage, 8 hour matte finish.' So pretty much it's just another powder. I brought it because it was a good colour match and felt very silky and finely milled.
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick 'Glam Plum Fulham' what a beauty. This reminds me of Mac's Rebel/Diva but with a satin finish, perfect for Winter and Christmas!
Rimmel Colour Rush in 'Give Me A Cuddle' has the cutest name, ever. This is a really pretty Bubblegum pink but lips need a good exfoliation before application.
L'oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim is one of the best eyeliners I've tried so far. It's slim enough to create a delicate, thin line, it's completely opaque, long lasting and I'd imagine it would be great for beginners.
Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in 'Petal' reminds me of the Stila Liquid Lipsticks, especially this one which is similar to 'Bellissima' a cool, rosy pink. It applies really smoothly, it's well pigmented, a lovely colour but it does dry down to a very matte finish. Be warned, these innocent looking lip creams will suck all the moisture from your lips so lip balm is definitely your friend.

Mini Primark Haul.

If you follow me on Twitter you might of seen that I recently went on an impromptu trip to London for the day. I'd originally planned to visit a nearby town which has a small Primark after one of the girls at work found some berry coloured ankle boots that I convinced myself I needed. My car's been playing up recently which meant we'd be taking the train anyway so whilst arranging times and ticket costs my boyfriend made the mistake of suggesting we go to London instead. Before I'd even given him an answer I was already making mental notes of all the shops I wanted to have a look in. Selfridges, Space NK, Mac Pro were a few but I also still wanted to visit a Primark and went to the huge store on Oxford Street. I've never seen so many people crammed in to one shop before, claustrophobic people beware.
I'd of loved to have a proper rummage through all the accessories, shoes and clothes, throws and random bits and bobs but I could barely squeeze myself down the isles so hastily picked up a few items as we made our way around the shop and joined the ever growing queue. I managed to get a few bargains whilst there, including a new cosy coat for Winter, £18, a lovely little bag, £8, a statement necklace, £4 and some super comfy imitation uggs, £5. I know some people hate faux uggs but I wish I'd brought two or three pairs, they're so warm and comfy and when they get misshapen I'll just chuck them in the bin! I never did find the berry ankle boots!
I also managed to pick up a pink gym bottle for £2 and a cute cupcake gift bag for £1 and socks, of course. Who doesn't stock up on socks in Primark?!

You may of seen some of my beauty purchases on my Instagram, if not look me up - lisamichellexx and if you don't use Instagram, don't fear as I'll be posting my London Beauty haul soon!

Have you picked up any bargains recently? And have you ever visited the manic Oxford Street store?

High End Beauty Haul

A recent visit to a local Department store always starts with an innocent wander, maybe a few swatches, an 'Oh ok, I'll just buy one treat' and then I become an unstoppable shopping monster.
So, what did I pick up?
Estee Lauder's Double Wear Mascara, this came in a set with a moisturiser and make up remover sample, so far it's a winner for the bottom lashes if smudging is an issue!
YSL Touche Eclait which is a cult product with Bloggers and YouTubers alike, I've yet to try this but when I do I'll report back on whether it's worth the splurge.
Ren's Resurfacing AHA Concentrate which exfoliates the skin, leaving you with smoother skin and a more radiant finish - or at least that's what they claim!
Mac 'Style' powder blush, a gorgeous peachy pink with golden shimmer which looks amazing with a tan.
Mac 'Blanc Type' eyeshadow, a matte ivory shade that really opens up the eye, ideal for a neutrals palette.
Mac 'Cherry' lip liner, another hyped product, it's a classic red which works well with most shades of red lipstick, it's creamy, pigmented with a matte finish.
Mac 'Blankety' lipstick, a pretty pale pink, I love nudes and this was a must have when I spotted it on the counter.
Mac Prep and Prime Highlighter in 'Light Boost', similar to the YSL touche eclait, adding radiance to the face and brightening areas.
Mac Zoom Lash mascara - having never tried a mascara from Mac this was a last minute grab at the till, I've yet to try it out but I've heard many good things.

And there's everything I purchased on my shopping spree and my lame excuses as to why I needed each item, isn't there always a reason why? haha. Let me know if you'd like any of these products reviewed!

Topshop Haul

Are you getting sick of hauls yet?

This time I've been to Topshop and picked up a few products I'd been eyeing up for a while now. I never expected Topshops cosmetic line to be such good quality but I've yet to be diasappointed and they're just as good as high end brands at a lower price. The packaging is on point, the range is big enough to offer variety and some unique colour options yet not vast enough to be overwhelmed by. Prices start at £4 and go up to £18.
If you pass through a store, it's definitely worth spending a few minutes having a quick swatch.

So what did I get?

I picked up their Eye Palette in 'Game On', a metallic, cream shadow quad.
'Cresent Moon' highlighter, a champagne, shimmery powder highlight.
Lip Crayon in 'Arcade', a deep, maroon shade.
Magic Liner in 'Engraved', a basic, deep black with a thin felt tip applicator.
Lipsticks in 'Faint', a pale pink and 'Inhibition' a dark, purple shade similar to the lip crayon.
Cream Highlighter in 'Polish', a champagne, pearlescent cream highlight with slight shimmer.
Lip Pencil in 'Deception', a classic, deep red.
Peel Off Nail Varnish in 'On The Blink' a bright blue.

The only questionable product is the peel off nail varnish. Beautiful colour, bad, bad idea.

Beautiful Goodies From Estee Lauder & Benefit

As promised, here's another show and tell of my recent pay day shopping spree.
Initially I only went in to town to pick up one product.
How does walking in to Debenhams for a re-purchase of Estee Lauder Double Wear result in multiple product purchases you may ask? The products are too beautiful and hard to resist once you start swatching. So what did I get?
As mentioned, I re-purchased the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in the shade 'Tawny', this is my third bottle and I absolutely love this stuff. Not only does this foundation offer amazing, buildable coverage, it lasts all day, offers a great colour selection, has luxurious packaging and works well with my oily skin. Sure it has no pump, but who cares when a foundation is this good? I don't!
I also picked up the Double Wear Powder in the shade 'Sand', I was previously using the Maybelline Dream Matte powder which was brilliant until they discontinued it so now I'm on the hunt for a replacement! So far, the Double Wear and Mac Studio Fix Powder are strong contenders for the top spot.
Then whilst mid swatch-fest I happened to glance over at the lipsticks and began testing them on my hand, big mistake, not only due to the mess I made but also because I couldn't resist buying two. I decided on 'Vanilla Truffle' a pretty, pink toned nude and 'Pink Sand' a pale pink which reminded me of Mac's 'Hue'.
This is undoubtably where my spree should of ended but at the last minute I couldn't help but pick up a Pure Colour Stay On Shadow Paint in the shade 'Halo' a neutral beige with slight shimmer. And if that wasn't bad enough, at the last minute I ran over to the Benefit counter and requested a Fake Up concealer in the shade 'Medium' before finally realising the majority of my money had vanished and I needed to make a swift exit.

Help, I have a problem.

Pay Day Treats

I have no self restraint.

As soon as pay day came around I was straight on the Debenhams website placing an order, I'm unable to control my shopping urges - obviously. I've brought a lot of new products recently, so I'll spread the hauls out across a few blog posts and here's the first installment - hello Mac.
The first product I popped in my basket was the new Mac Mineralize Moisture Foundation because of all the hype surrounded by it. Wayne Goss, YouTube extraordinaire raved about this recently so therefore I had to get it. I got this and all other face products in NC25, in case you were wondering and this is the ideal shade for when I've applied fake tan.
Another product I'd wanted to try was the Mac Studio Tech foundation which I've been eyeing up for a while now. This offers full coverage and leaves an airbrushed finish, for some it would definitely be too heavy but I love it so far! I've also been lusting after the Full Coverage foundation but as far as I'm aware you need a Mac Pro card to be able to get your hands on that?
I also got the Mac Studio Fix Plus Powder which I've seen mentioned on multiple beauty blogs recently, it adds a little extra coverage and has a beautiful satin finish - definitely one of the best powders I've used in a while.
And finally, the last few products I decided to get were the Philosophy BB cream which has rave reviews on the Boots website, a clear Mac Brow Set and two of the Mineralize lipsticks in 'Everyday Diva' and 'Natural Luxe'.
So far I'm not massively excited by the Philosophy BB Cream, or the Mac Mineralize Moisture Foundation as they've both not lived up to the hype but I adore everything else. Full reviews to come!

Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend, I'll be stuck at work but I'm sure when I look on Twitter or Instagram at what others are up to I'll be able to live vicariously through them, haha!

Benefit Haul

After trialling out the Benefit Skincare Sample Set (review here) I decided to pick up two of my favourite products, the Total Moisture Facial Cream, £26.50 and Refinished Finish Facial Polish, £17.50. These are undoubtedly the most expensive skin care products I've brought as I'm a bit of a stinge when it comes to creams, scrubs and cleansers. I've never really found myself needing a proper routine for my skin and just stuck to face wipes but lately my skin is massively oily, yet dry at the same time and it's driving me mad. That being said I wasn't too fussed about forking out for these two products as I know they work well for me and I'm hoping they help fix my skin issues.
I intend on using the Refined Finish Facial Polish once or twice a week to get rid of any dry patches then using the Total Moisture Facial Cream every other night to make my skin feel plump and soft. I've also recently picked up a few products from Liz Earle and Origins to try out and I'm considering forking out an outrageous £120+ for a Clarasonic. Opinions please? Worth the money?
I also managed to get talked in to buying a few cosmetics whilst at the Benefit counter as well including the Beyond Real Mascara, The Porefessional Primer, High Brow and Speed Brow. Well done sales girl, you did good.

Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder
Urban Decay Eyelash Primer Potion
Urban Decay All Nighter Spray
Mac Beguile Brow Set
Duo Eyelash Glue

I hadn't intended on buying any products from Mac or Urban Decay, all I can say is that the sales assistants working on both counters are obviously very good at their jobs..

Asos Goodies

Nars 'Wicked Attraction' Gift Set
Benefit 6 Piece Skin Care Sample Set
Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in 'Valparaiso'
Figs & Rouge Organic Lip Balm - Rambling Rose
Lord & Berry Cream Foundation in 'Honey'

Recently Asos had 25% off for Students. Not wanting to miss out on this, I posted a few desperate tweets and the lovely Claire (check out her blog, she's really talented!) offered to let me use hers. For some strange reason it wouldn't add on the discount, maybe it was only one use per code? but after scouring the site for what I wanted, adding it all to my basket - I couldn't close the page down so ended up making a purchase anyway!
I've never tried anything from Nar's so that was my main justification for making an order!

Did you pick up anything from Asos while it was 25% off?
